96-98 cavs seem to have the same problems

Looking through the forum I have found that there are a ton of the same issues with 96-98 cavs or around there that have the same problems! They all talk about them choking up and buckling or seems like its running out of gas and it makes for a really rough ride! They have also noted that they have change the fuel pumps and spark plugs and such. So it seems this is a serious problem with these models and we would love to find someone that could help! Mine will run just fine for about 5 to 10 minutes and then it's a rough ride from there, but not really consistent of how often it does it!! And this is embarrasing when it happens because it jerks around so much!! Is there anyone out there that could help???

Re: 96-98 cavs seem to have the same problems

i had same problem on my 96'. i was on 140,000 miles on stock fuel filter i changed it and it didnt work, i had it scanned for codes and found that i had multiple misfires on number 1 and 4 cylinder which translated into a 20 dollar coil pack and about 10 mins to change and now she runs better than the day i bought her.
