Project: Butch!

Hello, this is my Bronco Project, and I'm letting you guys in on it to see what help it can be to future Bronco Builders, and my own sanity. I have two Broncos , and this project is to make one dream truck out of the two.

I'm going to use the body, engine from my 88 5.8 and the frame/trans from my 87. The 87 has a "4x4 Handling Package" which includes rear sway bar, and double shocks up front. The front sway bar is 'ate up' around the bushings, so I'm going to use the 88's. The rear shackle is also broken, so I'm going to need a replacement shackle kit in order to make the frame sound. The Transmission is a 4-sp Manual (So I'll be replacing the steering column(s), and pedals...but this transmission has Cruise Control, so I'm really eager to get it running to see what it can do! (The Cruise Control wasn't working when I was running the 87 because the speedo cable was not staying in the housing. But I'm sure the 88's will work fine.) Also, the 87 has 'greasable King Pins' which apeals a lot more to me than the 'run-dry' type from the 88. I'd hate to do all this work, and still be stuck with a gimpy front suspension.

I'll get some pics up when I take some. Maybe I'll get a 'mycardomain' page, and link it through this site.

So....do you think the plan is good? Anything to watch out for as the build goes on? (I'll try to enlist the garage services of a Bronco Man I know in the area-I can't wait until Spring to start the work.)
