carbon fiber hood...

yo i got a vis carbon fiber hood with predrilled holes for the windshield washer nozzles. does anyone know if the stock nozzles fit these holes. has anyone here put washer nozzles on one of these hoods with pre drilled holes that Vis provides. i got some from a 1994 civic and they didnt fit(little too big), so im just wondering if the stock ones will. peace

Re: carbon fiber hood...

yea i tried to find some for my year but the auto parts store wanted 12 bucks apiece plus they had to order them with a waiting period, so i tried the 94's cuz they were free. i figured the stock ones would fit, but the stock hood didnt have any on it, and i didnt want to spend money on ordered parts that may not fit..but i guess they do....thanks man...peace

Re: carbon fiber hood...

Had the same exact problem... With both of my CF hoods, and the latest was a ViS... What you have to do is widen the holes, but you must be careful!! I used tape on the top because the clear coat will chip! I did it to my first hood! Once u have it taped off, go underneath the hood use a dremel with the router bit and carefully widen the holes until they fit... Keep test fitting them cuz once u take too much off, you cant add it back...

Exempt......did you have to drill even while using the stock sprayers?.....would it have been possible to chip the sprayer smaller?...i really dont want to cut the hood, ive seen some bad spider cracks because of that, but then again no tape was used like you had done.

Re: carbon fiber hood...

Yes, my nozzles were the same carried over from my original stock hood... I dont see why u couldnt trim the nozzles, I didnt think of that honestly... Might have been a safer way to go... The nozzles have like a small notch outward on them that can probably be sanded or grinded off... Thats actually is what stops u from inserting them properly, atleast thats what was stopping mind from going in...
