D16z6 And Vtec Head W/o Mpfi Or Vtec?

Hello Yet Again Friends! I Know This Is A Dumb Question, And I Should Just Wire Up Mpfi And Vtec. But Short On Cash For Computer And Other. Anyway, Here Goes. Will My 1993 D16z6 Engine Work Without Mpfi/vtec. I'm Running Dpfi As It Stands But My Old Head Is Now Shot. I Would Like To Run The D16z6 Block And Head On Dpfi For Now. Will It Run Right?will There Be Any Timing Issues Since It Is Supposed To Be Vtec? I Really Need To Get It On The Road, But Have No Money. Thanks For All Your Input!!!

I couldn't say for sure about the DPFI, but your VTEC doesn't need to be hooked up to run. The timing won't be affected by vtec not being hooked up.
