Re: intake on a gp GT ??

That'd be interesting to mess with. If I'm reading about Thrasher's CAIs correctly, you have to physically move the engine cpu to get it all to fit. Supposedly easy to do, but I want some confirmation before I fart around with a $3-digit integral component.

Re: intake on a gp GT ??

ok, no matter what kind of intake you do you HAVE TO MOVE YOUR PCM, because the airbox is also the housing for the pcm. (located at the bottom, usually hidden)

Anyways, you can make your air intake out of PVC pipe, really easy, i did it and absolutly love it!

As for messing with a 3 digit piece of your car, if you look its very heavily protected, pretty safe to say its hard as hell to mess it up. (not saying it cant be done) 99% of the guys that make their own intake use quick ties, and so did i, it dosent move a damn inch. And if your worried they sell PCM trays, ranging from 10 to 50 dollars.

heres the link for most any grand prix mod:

Re: intake on a gp GT ??

Thanks for that link - a little reassured after reading a copy of the install instructions.

Do you suggest putting the PCM into learning mode after installing a CAI?

Re: intake on a gp GT ??

When i did mine i didnt touch the PCM except to move it. So as far as that goes i dont know.

It runs fine without it, depends on what you feel you need or want to do
