i have 1986 pontiac fiero se with a 2.8 in it and i also have a 1996 pontiac firebird with a 3.8 in it. i was woundering if i could put a 3.8 engine in my fiero because i love the way the 3.8 runs and would love to put one in there is it possible

The 3800 engine swap is doable. Most use a 3800/3800SC from front wheel drive Pontiacs or Buicks. The tranverse engine from the Buicks and Pontiacs is more simple as the 2.8 Fiero engine is also a front wheel drive styled engine, so engine and transmission mount fairly simpley. I know that the earlier 3.4 Camaro/Firebird engines are a direct replacement for the Fiero 2.8 with only minimum modification. But if you have time and money, almost any engine configuration can be accomplished.
