'02 Grand Cherokee Trannsmission Problem
(Check Engine Light came on)
My transmission has trouble with gear changes. It sometime starts off in 2nd or 3rd gear instead of first or it starts off in first and the RPMs will rev to 3500+ before it shifts into 2nd gear (even if my foot is only lightly pressing the gas) I checked the battery. it was at 400CCA and should have been at 650CCA, I had it recharged and probably will get a new one soon. I heard that the batter COULD be the cause of this problem, and it was causing a problem earlier when the loose connection cause my car to lose complete power a few times this morning. I'm due back at the dealership later this week. Just wondering if anyone knows other problems I may be having. We'll see if the newly charged batter will make the problem go away by tomorrow I guess. Engine Runs Perfect Transmission Fluid still Red and at near Full. Thanks, Luke |

Re: '02 Grand Cherokee Trannsmission Problem
4.0 or 4.7?If it is a 4.0,it might be the governor pressure transducer. You can get the codes if you cycle the key on and off 3 times.it will give you the P-codes in the odometer.some of the codes for the governor pressure transducer are P1756,P1757,P1762,P1763,P1764. That is common on 4.0.if its a 4.7 it can be about a million things
