Question How many miles on your LeSabre?

New to the forum and i was just curious to see how everyone's LeSabre's are holding up.

I just inherited a 1992 Limited and it has 249,000 miles on it. Can anyone top that?

I'm not exactly sure what work has been done on it, but it still purrs like a kitty kat! If anyone is interested, I can probably get a history of repairs - with this many miles, I'm positive my father-in-law must've had to get something fixed!] It sounds like it was almost all highway miles - state highways going to and from work.

The only thing wrong with it right now is the turn signal lever, which I posted about in another thread.

Loving the LeSabre right now!

Hello

I have a 97 with 109,000 on it. Bought it with 99,000. I've put in struts, drive axels, and wheel bearing. I still have a slight shimmy/fludder after replaceing all of that. Every thing helped. I believe one or more strut was bad, the drive axel was out of ballance, and I don't think I needed to replace the wheel bearing. I thought it was a cause of a shimmy or noise.

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

I have an '87 with 224,000 on the odo, but it surely has over 250,000 as the odometer/speedometer stopped working with headlights on and it was driven at night / early morning before I got it.

However, the engine is only about to hit 3,000 miles (brand new engine). Everything else though is old

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

I have a 94 Lesabre with 23k on it. Before me it was owned by an old lady who barely drove it. I bought it in 2005 with 17k, so i put on about 5k, i did have to replace the fuel pump, and the throtle body gasket.

Cool Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

I have a 1990 LeSabre Limited Coupe with 77,000. It's a great old car. The lady I got it from bought it brand new and kept it in her garage every night. I bought it with 59,000 in August of '04. I had to replace the tires (from the originals) and the alternator. I also patched the back tail light. I added a Pioneer deck and an Audiobahn bass tube. I also invested $70 in one of those 'Tornado Air Management Systems' and a word of advice is don't waste your money. We had a huge snow storm last night and my 'big ol' boat' handeled it like a tank. Well im out for now. Nice to hear about these reliable cars.

Is it a bad tire, belt, or runout on rims?

I've rotated the tires and it didn't follow the tire. Good thought though.

Thanks

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

best one ive seen is an 86 Lesabre that my friend found on the road in a dangerous spot. He picked it up on the flatbed and took it to his shop, no one ever claimed it. he checked it to see what might be wrong, ends up the tranny was shot. 333,000 miles, no wrench scars anywhere on the engine or trans except for the alternator..

he was going to fix the tranny and let me drive the car , but went crazy and sold it for scrap.

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

Well I think I toped that...
I got atleast 350K on my frame =D
No one would even know it, cause she look brand new. LOL
CLEAN

Engine has been replaced it has 88K
Tranny also been replace its has 69K

These engines can easily do 300K in my opinion!
I even seen a 92 with 400K still runing good!

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

94' LeSabre... 201K miles... Crankshaft position sensor.180k. (ghost stalling), Computer.185k. (Cruise control dropout).. Now possibly a lifter or wrist pin tapping.. Maybe will fix soon. Doubt it.

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

I just bought a nice 95 showing 80k on the odometer. Everything works, owned by non-smoking elderly couple who kept up the regular maintenance at the dealer. They bought it new at the same dealership I bought it from. Has a slight creak from right side when steering wheel is turned hard, but I expect the CV joint may just be in need of a gob of grease in the boot or maybe it needs a lube job. There is no particular feeling of looseness, tightness or vibration in the steering, and the car tracks straight when I let go of the wheel so I don't think it is serious. If a little creak is the worst that has happened to this car in 80k miles, then I think it will likely last a long time.

Re: How many miles on your LeSabre?

I have 2 97's. One has 150,000 and the other has 131,000. I am hoping to get at least 200,000 on each before trading them. They both run great.
