Re: Another pic of my car

Don't try to paint your hood black to make it look like carbon fiber, take the kit off it and paint it now. Don't drive around town like that becuase you'll be paying more for paint prep to get any damage you may encounter before hand. Buy a deacent set of rims, lower it, ditch the side moldings, pin strips, and get the type J rear bumper to set off the side skirts. Then do a sit ass paint job on her!

Re: Another pic of my car

it looks like shit.

paint it all one color, and take those spray painted wheels off, and it would look really nice.

Re: Another pic of my car

God I hate that car. Please take it out of its misery. One way to do that is to meet a tree, bridge, telephone pole, cliff, semi truck, building or any other large, incredibly stationary object while traveling at a high rate of speed. Repeat if necessary. Happy Trails!

Re: Another pic of my car

Holy shit, and you guys think I am harsh.

I the kit looks good and I think you have a spoiler that fits it. I would definately get it all painted the same color, mold those side skirts, and finish up the kit. Lower it about 2" and get some 17's and it will be sexy as hell.

I think I remember reading a head light/tail light mask how-to once either on JBO or cardomain.com when I was into body stuff for my Cavalier. Check out those places for a good write up on custom masking.

Re: Another pic of my car

well ive never seen a body kit on a cavalier that i like, and thats still true, i definetely think you should get it painted though, or take it off till you can get it painted, and that hood looks like shit, total dogshit, worst part of the car in my opinion, to me it makes the car look like you wrecked it, and couldnt afford to fix it right so you just covered it up with that shitty hood and then put a body kit on it, thats probably why i dont like it, and last but defintely not least, are you fucking serious??? please dont tell me those are the stock hubcaps painted black???? whatever they are, they dont look good

the spoiler is actually one of the better looking ones ive seen on a cavalier though,

Re: Another pic of my car

A) Get rims...not painted hub caps
B) Don't put a body kit on there unless its is the COMPLETE kit, and you have the money to paint it. I hate to see cars with half of a body kit on their car much less an unpainted one.
C) Paint the hood or get a real carbon fiber one
D) Lose the pin stripping on the car
E) You have a hell of an imagination you just have to go all the way through with it. One suggestion is if you don't have everything necessary to complet it in one blow, hold off until you do.

Oh and I'd also tint the windows.

Re: Another pic of my car

Well thanks for the comments first of all, Just so you all know most of the things you all said are right. I am going to get the car eventually paint black ( i honeslty couldnt wait to put the body kit on, also have never found a rear bumper that i like) and i doubt it would look better stock because i got the gay primer bumpers, the entire car would not be the same color with stock bumpers. Why paint hubcaps black? cause i dont like them being gray and i dont want to drive around with steelies. Ohh and the eyelids.....lol i couldnt decide if i wanted to buy the kit so i went ahead and did it with electric tape to give me an idea of what it would look like. Ohh and the hood the reason its black now is because my car was in a wreck before i got it so i made an attempt to fix it with bondo when i was done the area was pink and there is no way i could duplicate factory paint so i went ahead and spray painted it black.

Over all i will admit its ghetto, but personally i think its the passion and determination of a 18 year old whose on his own to try to make his car at least decent looking.

lol, damn i hit that nail on the head, its good you have goals, and its also good you can admit your car looks "ghetto" (as you said) while your in the middle of accomplishing those goals, do you plan on painting the hood and body kit first or getting rims?

i wanted to add, if you do take this guys advice, dont hit a semi truck, i know they're waaay bigger but there still is a chance that truck driver might get hurt

::edit::

unless of course its parked, then go right ahead, and oh yeah, POST THE VIDEO!!!!
