Question Moonroof Problem

Hey all, I'm a noob and I am having a problem with my moonroof on my 2000 GT. I press the switch to open it, nothing happens...I press the switch to close it(when already closed) and i hear a click(like it's trying to engage), then another, more faint, click about a half-second later(like the switch gave up on trying to close the moonroof.) I searched the forums and saw that the 2000's were having problems with the track. This doesn't sound like a track problem to me at all, but i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and found a solution, or if anyone had any thoughts.

...All fuses are intact...for anyone who might think I'm an idiot...

Re: Moonroof Problem

Yeah, my 2000 GT has the same problem. With mine when i press the button to open it i just push up on the glass and it pops up and works fine. since it really isnt that big a problem for me I havent had it checked out to be fixed, so i dont know what the problem is/solution. Will yours open if you do this? If not yours might be more broken then the rest. Good luck

Re: Moonroof Problem

I wouldnt say it's a little thing, i mean, its like over a 1k factory option to have it. Plus its real nice to have open in the summer at night. IDK, try a local body shop or something since you probably dont have any warranty. Im interested if nothing else to see how much it costs and what the REAL problem is.

Re: Moonroof Problem

Make sure the plastic piece that surrounds the switch is pop into place. Sometime mine comes loose and it blocks that path of the switch and it won't open

Is it supposed to open all the way or did they make one that only popped up. The plastic piece around the button is loose but i don't think it's not allowing the button to work, i will take another look tomorrow...thanks for the help guys i will keep you posted.
