Question Sound system

Today i bought a new Jvc cd/mp3 player for my 1995 lincoln town car i bought the adapter that goes to the stock connection at walmart, But when i pulled out the stereo and disconnected the plugs i connected the adaptor that feeds the stereo power and memory but the one that goes to the speakers didnt fit. Now i'm wondering if i have to rewire the speakers/antenna or do they make harnesses that bypass the amp?

I've heard of another harness made to bypass the amp, but I was under the impression that it wasn't needed if you don't want to go that route.

Crutchfield.com is one source that carries all those adapters, but there's many others as well.

This subject was covered several times here too.

Re: Sound system

Hello

Yes crutchfields sells the adaptors and amp by pass cable. I bought them for my 91 town car. The only thing they didn't tell me, was that It would cut out the Sub. They weren't very helpful when it came to that part.

Re: Sound system

Well i finally came to a conclusion.. get rid of the stock amp and rewire the whole thing and get new speakers i know that the stock ones cant take too much i had the stock radio up to 34 which is all the way up and the speakers sounded like they were gonna blow the back ones at least. Oh well i have a whole day to waste tomarrow.

It's directly above the spare tire. There's some shots somewhere in these forums, I'll look for them if you like... I'd just search subwoofer in the Conti and TC forums, and the Audio forum at LOL
