As some of you may ahev read on my other post, I am very dissapointed in GM for putting the Alt on the bottom of the engine. While I was replacing the one that I had killed in a pond, a friend told me that I could spray the diodes on the back with spray silicone and it would keep it from shorting out.
I am always up for trying new ideas, but has anyone else ever heard of this??? |

Re: Waterproof Altenator???
no.
The thing that kills them is the mud and dirt that gets in them. If you want to drive through ponds in your Zu stock up on Alts because they will eat them up!

Re: Waterproof Altenator???
you could also look into relocating the alt by custom fab-ing a bracket. then you could put it higher up in the engine compartment.
the where's and how's are beyond me....
