Re: Wondering?

You forget the welder, and scrap iron.

No Kit's available, but you can do it.

Don't use the stock transmission, or you won't be impressed for long.

Re: Wondering?

You'll need a Ferio front end to make it corner.
Plus I don't know how you could do it unless it's a long box. You need the room for the motor, transmission, a small drive shaft. Then the rear end.

I've got a pic of a Nissan Pickup with a 673hp 496 stroker in the bed, and it sure looks cool in there. but it was only chained in. not mounted. (I took the pic as a gag after running it to the dyno in the Nissan)

Re: Wondering?

I say Go For It!
Take your time, but do it. We'll help you out with as much advice as we can give you.

It'll give you a nice long project to do, and if you take your time and do it right it might be worth a lot to the right person.

More than that you'll learn a lot about fabricating, welding and so much more.

Since most of the parts aren't available the main expense will be the motor and transmission. Paint when done wouldn't hurt either.

Your local welders scrap metal bin will probably have what you need to fabricate most of the motor mounts and what not.

Re: Wondering?

o it is verry doable, your frame will be heavily modified for the exhaust, but there was (havn't seen it in a year or two now) a green double extended cab (cut the extended cab in the middle and added another extended part) with a 454 from a full size ss in it, badass, is the only word able to discribe it

Re: Wondering?

Sounds like it'll ba a tough truck as well.

Take your time with it, and take lots of pic's as you go.

I was thinking about this same thing when I saw how the big block looked in the back of the Nissan, and I think that you'll have to mount the motor above the differential, transmission infront, a shrot drive shaft, then some sort of transfer case re-directiong the power back to the differential.
The box just isn't long enough otherwise.

This would make it into an incredable wheely machine!

The other option is use a Fereo or Porshe transaxle. Which won't handle the power that you want

I'll try to dig up the Nissan pic's sometime tonight
