Re: exhaust

Your car is designed to run best with all the factory parts intact, of course you can do what you want.

Re: exhaust

I'll change my tune somewhat, I was on the Ford site, I see they offer factory hopups for mustangs, some of the newer kits include new calibration also, I could see buying factory hopups as they have been DESIGNED to work within the parameters set by the factory, if not then re-calibration is provided.. as far as cutting a pipe off, maybe the car was designed to use that backpressure???

the resonator is indeed a restriction. installing a strait pipe in its place will free up a few hp but might make your exhaust excessively loud. the resonator is basically a muffler before a muffler.

Re: exhaust

if you want it to sound like a jap piece of shit then yes, take the resonater off and enjoy the headace it insues. oh and if you are into that why not put on a coffie can too, that will add to the bad noise! but if you want it to sound good go to someone who knows what they are doing like flomaster and give us all a break from the aweful sounding noise.

(someone had to say it)

Re: exhaust

with the resonator out but the factory muffler intact, the car will simply sound a bit weird louder than normal, not very loud and no, it won't sound sound like a "jap piece of shit" as you so non-eloquently put it.
