How to get third gen to hook up

Okay, got my car running amazing, now it won't hook up. It has something like 2.73 or 2.78 gears, and that one wheel is going nuts for a long time. Auto trans by the way. Anyway, a 3.73 and posi is on the way, but that probably won't help it hook, engine is far from stock so what would the next step be to help it hook up. I'm not looking to drag race, just corner great and get good solid launches. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!
Jake

btw, trans suggestions are need, too much torque and the stock 700R4 is going down hill in a hurry, thanks again.

Have you connected the sub frames for more rigidity?

No, I haven't done that yet, but I was thinking that may be the first step. I guess that confirms it, lol. Thanks! Have a good night!

Re: How to get third gen to hook up

There are several things you can purchase to help, if oyu haven't already.

Things like aftermarket lower control arms with polyurethane bushings. they are much stronger than the factory stamped control arms with rubber bushings.

also, an adjustable torque arm will do wonders. While they sell "fixed" ones, the adjustable will allow you to set up the pinion angle that works best on your car.

The frame ties will reduce chassis flex too. they all add up in helping.

Maybe consider purchasing this book How to tune & modify your camaro
ISBN: 076030436X - MotorBooks/MBI Publishing Company

Lots of good info for both third and 4th gen F bodies.

(works for Pontiacs, too)

Good luck!
