New Intake and Carb

I am trying to "spice" my 72 Chevy Up a bit under the hood. I have a 350 Stock engine. I am looking to add a new Intake and carb to the engine. I have been looking at Edelbrock and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to which two items would work best. My current Carb is about finished and needs to be rebuilt, I figure why not upgrade if possible. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

go for the Edelbrock intake you will love it. as for the carb get a good 4 bbl. you will like it. I had a 85 that got 20 mpg. on the highway using cruse control.

since your going to be in the truck that far if you have highmilage check the cam. if i had been thinking i would still be driving my old truck. the last lobe on the cam was warn down. cousing the truck to over heat that cylnder and spark knock bad. dumb move on me starting a new job, in the middle of winter and no place to work on the truck. so i bougt a new one.

Re: New Intake and Carb

I'm an EFI person myself, but somehow I've run a couple of carbs on my 454SS trucks. Both times I used the Holley Street Avenger series and was very pleased. The intake decision will depend on your future plans for the engine.

the performer is a good intake for a stock engine, match it with the appropiate carb.650 or so CFM would be fine I would think
