Wiring

Ok, so I asked this question before but nobody answered and I didn't want to pull up an old thread so...I have a 91 RX DX, with a B16A, th wiring is crappy, from the engine harness to the ecu, all of its whacked, including the A/c which was pulled..I cant even find the wires but I don't believe they were cut, it has issues...So, I have found a couple of DX's in the junkyard (if it were an SI I wouldn't be asking), unfortunately they are both autos....If I swipe the harness out of one of them and plug it in will it work? I know the automatic has extra wires, but wouldn't they just be unused, like not connected?...so It would work? or not? I would be able to modify it if neccesary, I'm qualified to do it (I just Don't want to).

Re: Wiring

if its from an auto you might have extra plugs, but im not sure. it should work though as long as all the ecu pins are the same.

if you really want to clean it up you could get a SI interior harness and then you could run a si engine harness and only extra wiring you would have to add is for vtec, oil pressure, knock, and 2nd o2.

which is why you use the interior/dash harness which replaces all the wiring in the car for the most part.

Re: Wiring

Correct, but If you note in my question, they are both DX, not SI. If they were I'd have gutted more than just both harnesses out! I know the SI and DX wont match, but I have a DX and they are DX, and I have been checking and the pins seem to be all there, plus a couple extra on the ecu plug (they say something like "optional, auto"). I just wanted a thumbs up before I spend like 2 or 3 hours tearing this sucker out, in the cold.
