I have a 95 Buick also that just quits as you are driving down the road. When it quits all the fans come on. Does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong?

It has had 2 new computers put in, cam sensor, and crank sensor. What else do you need to know? I will try to remember what else was done. |

Re: I Love Buicks But...95 quits!
It sounds like it could be the ignition module. Have it checked out.

Re: I Love Buicks But...95 quits!
A faulty ignition switch (VATS wire problem) would not cause the car to stall. It would only prevent the car from being started, perhaps intermittently if the wire wasn't totally disconnected or broken. A faulty VATS module however could cause the car to stall once the engine is running. The module sends a Pulse Width Modulated signal to the PCM. If this signal is not present, the PCM will not provide injector pulses thus causing the engine to stall.
To bypass the system and take the Key out of the picture a correct resistor needs to be place inline of the wires....the car will start and run every time...(this is what is done when a remote starter is used so the car can start without the key) Go to a local shop that installs remote starters and ask them for a "VATS pack". Many remote starters include a package of resistors, one for each of the 15 values. If the starter kit is installed in a vehicle that is not equipped with the VATS system, the resistors go unused. You may be able to get one at no charge if they're in a good mood. GM Vats System Bypass

Re: I Love Buicks But...95 quits!
Id recheck the CRANKSHAFT sensor..often the computer reports the Camshaft sensor as being bad.. and aftermarket ones suck.. bad Grounds are hard to find... If you have covered all the bases .. you have to go back around.. sorry.

Re: I Love Buicks But...95 quits!
we haven't been able to use a computer on the car. It is one of those that is a pain in the rear. Both of our buicks are like that, 94 and 95.

A full function scanner will work on those cars.
