New track time + some tidbits
Yo guys, I was really pissed off 2 weeks ago from my time at the track (15.2@88). So, I headed back up last night to break that time. Well... I did- finally lol.
Here is my slip info: R/T : .469 60' : 2.008 330 : 5.997 1/8 : 93.63 MPH : 74.73 1000 : 12.238 1/4 : 14.690 MPH : 89.71 I am much happier now that I'm into the 14's, which is where I should have been a couple mods ago. But hey, I need alot of practice, so I'm getting there. This time, I let the car sit for about an hour to cool down a little before the run. I'm happy I got my 60' down from a 2.2 to the 2.0, but I should idealy be at 1.8-1.9. Also, I think I know why I ran shit 2 weeks ago. I think my boost controller lock nut got a little loose and I was only running like 11 psi haha. EDIT : Oh ya, on that 14.6 run, I raped a Mustang GT hehe. Also, there was a guy with a white eclipse running 11.8 at I think 120ish. Really nice guy. Talked to him for like 45 minutes. He had a 96 gsx with a 6 bolt(only built with rods and pistons), gt35r turbo, act lightweight flywheel / street disc / 2600 clutch, magnus intake, dsmlink, PUMP GAS, 30 psi of boost, apexi fmic, some big ass injectors, and apexi n1 turboback. He was just murdering everyone. He used to live up in Minnesota, so maybe THOR would know him? Also, this guy is a close personal friend of a Mr. Brent Rau! He told me that on Brent's car that did a recent 6.76@198 is still a fucking 2.0! He did not stroke, or bore it out not one bit! That is fucking amazing. Rau built this guys first car, but not the one he ran last night. One last thing. My friend took his dad's car, which is a Lincoln LS last night lol. He ran a 16.1 @ 90. But the best part of this is that he beat a fucking evo 8 TWICE!!!! The evo guy couldn't drive for SHIT. The evo's time was 16.678 @ 84.37 LOL. Ah... I'm done writing now.

Re: New track time + some tidbits
The best mod you can do is drive better. Got you half a second.
Nice to see your finally running times closer to the ability of your car. Keep practicing, and with a few more mods you will get close to 14 flat.

Re: New track time + some tidbits
Nope, I dont know anyone from up there that went down there, I kinda got a kick out of you remembering where I am though
. He's probably from the twin cities, I am a good 4 hours away from there. Congrats on the .2 second 60' time drop, thats quite a difference as is the .5 second drop in the 1/4. Good work. God damn, 90 mph on a 16 second 1/4? Thats a pretty high trap speed for such a low ET isnt it? Keep practicing and hit us back each time you improve!

Not really sure bout where he is exactly in Minn. He said that he's like 10 min down the road from Rau's shop, so if you know where that is.

Re: New track time + some tidbits
Oh, I figured it was wheelspin. That happened to me the first time I ran my formula at LA. I can't remember the exact time something like 15.5 @ 99 mph. It just wouldn't hook(too much torque, too much RPM, not enough tire). I got better with it, but still couldn't beat a 2.1 short with street tires
.
