95 Villager won't start when below freezing
I have a 95 Mercury Villager. It won't start when temperature is below 28 degrees. The fuel pump has been replaced (it was bad) as has all the ignition wiring (they were bad). The engine has had a "tune-up" and starts nicely when above freezing. It runs well once started. Any ideas on where to start looking and how to fix?

Ok here we go again. If you did all the above and it still does not start here is what I did as of TODAY. I replaced my AAC valve YES AAC NOT IAC as I always posted. I got it used of a 95 villager with unknown miles. I removed the two rear screw that hold the motor in place watch for the small oring to fall out. I then used carb/fuel injector cleaner to clear out any carbon build up. I then used a toobrush and combination of picks etc to get the little bits that were left behind. I then pushed down on the pin that is in the valve and also moved the spring up and down with the pick gently. I then put back the o ring and replaced the two screws. Once done I removed my original. there are 4 10mm bolts and 1 clamp and 2 plugs. Remove the hose first by squeezing the clamp together and slide down. Then with a pick or sharp point tool remove the retaing clips that hold the plug on the right in place. You will need to get real close to see it. Just nudge it up a little from the top or bottom just do it and use needle nose pliers to hold it from falling and remove it stright up. Once you did that you will know how to remove the rear one. Remove the 4 bolts so that you can pull the piece towards you and remove the rear clip and plug. Reverse is the opposite of removal. Once replaced I started my van and it reved up to about 1500rpm and slowly back down as it should(Which it was not doing.) I then to the box wrench that i used to remove the 4 bolts and tapped on the EGR valve about 5 times. I then felt under it and pushed up on the diaghfram(spell check here) a few times to slightly stall the van then I turned it off and on a few times then I went back and pushed the diagfram up till the van stalled. I started it and turned it off a few more times(3-5) and let it run for about 15-25 minutes. I then washed it. I know has nothing to do with it but it was dirty. Anyway once the detailing was over I used it for the basic saturday runs and as of 20 minutes ago the van starts up like a true champ that it is. I really don't know if the egr part has anything to do with it since I never checked to see if the aac was working b4 I did it. I just wanted to include the exact procedure that I did that gave me the results I needed to have. I will update this info ASAP it is going to be could tonight and in the morining will be the real test. So basically this may or may not be the solution but you can remove your old one and clean it. It wont hurt unless you lose those clips. I am keeping my AAC valve cleaned and stored just in case. One more thing since I had bee messing with the adjustment screw I set mines back to the point that the used one had.
