Thumbs up Good Idea??

hey, im new to the camaro treads, but I have a question. I might be buying a 1989 IROC, and I would probibly be driving it everyday,it has 90K on her, and is almost perfect, but are these things good for that, will they last long, w/ no probs??? and whats the gas mileage like on one of these, I believe its the 350, but it also might be the 305. Thanx !!

Re: Good Idea??

Highway mileage can get up to 25 (don't play lead foot). Mixed driving 15-20, depending on traffic.
As far as dependability...it really depends on weather the car was taken care of and got its regular oil changes, filter changes, etc.

Re: Good Idea??

If it is the 305/350 it will last upwards of 300k mi without a rebuild it just depends on if the previous owner beat on it or not.

Re: Good Idea??

sounds like these things are built to last, I think I just might have to get it then. still gets better gas mileage than my truck which is at like 13 MPG, babying it, lol, plus I'm sure it doesnt have a 26 gallon tank so it doesnt cost 50+ to fill her up.
