no it will never be smog legal, but there's steps to make it pass the test, that's all that matters...... i've heard shit of running high high octane and rodding the shit outta your car for awhile and when they put it on it will blow clear...i dunno i'm from ny but there's shit you can do tho.

it seems like everything that you can do to make it pass though is tricking them into thinking it passes smog....there seems to be no way to actually make it pass smog though and stay smogged...man i really love the way that crx's look and you can do so many things with them but if i cant do an engine swap then i dont see much point in doing anything to the engine......maybe i'll just go all out on cosmetics and stereo

CAnt you get away with a b18c1 swap? More expensive, but shouldnt be too much of a problem out there in Cali..My b16 passed our smog way better than my stock motor did 2 years ago (and the stock motor didnt pass this year).

The problem is there are 2 parts to a smog test, 1 the sniffer that checks levels of harmful gasses, and 2 which is the visual check the inspector is supposed to do. If the inspector actually cares and does #2 you will fail. But most dont care they just want there money.
