Question Painting

Hello everyone;

Well, I have a question...... First, off I do not remember the exact name but, I want to go ahead and paint the very bottom of the front fascia right between the two fog lights. A lot of people have that painted a different color then the car. I would like to do that myself because, I like to learn things so I could do it myself anytime. Would I be able to actually do this procedure myself or have to go to body paint shop..... Also, what is the perferably the best scratch remover out on the marker.... I have a few very light scratches on my spoiler and would like to get rid of them soon.

Thank you for all your help in advance

Re: Painting

Painting is all about surface prep. If you really want it to look nice and last, wipe the entire surface down with wax and oil remover, then a tack cloth to remove any dust. Be patient and do multiple thin coats, heavy coats end up running or orange peeling (surface looks bumpy). Our cars are clearcoated, so you have to be careful attempting to remove scratches, as if you get to aggressive, you'll either make the clear look cloudy, or worse, go right through to the color.
