Exclamation P0453 Code - Help Please

I have a 1999 Silverado with the 5.3. I bought the truck a month ago and have had nothing but trouble. So far i have had to replace the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, 4wd switch, and so on. I have also had to take apart the evap tank and the sensor above the fuel tank for cleaning because they were filled with dirt. I drove it for about 3 weeks and had no trouble and now I got a P0453 code and it comes up as a EVAP Emission Control System Pressure Sensor High. I am just wondering what may be causing this and how to go about fixing it. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

My 2001 Cherokee had that error and a new gas cap was the remedy.

Re: P0453 Code - Help Please

If I am not mistaken, this refers to the pressure sensor located on top of the fuel tank. I had this same issue on my 99 last summer. The sensor cost me $50 and although people say you have to remove the tank/bed to get at it, I was able to fit my arm between the fram rail and box and remove/replace it. Took all of 5 minutes. Never had an issue after.
