1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse....Sputters under load

I have a 1990 Mitsu Eclipse 1.8 non turbo...Under load the engine sputters after 4,000 Rpm....there is no CEL. If I roll the accelerator on the motor will go up to 6,000. Only after 3/4 of acceleration the engine sputters. Any help would be appeciated..Thanx

Check the plugs and wires. Replace and regap if necessary.

ok well ill do that tommorow. I just picked up the car for $250. It needs a little work. But everything else seems to work fine. The motor runs strong otherwise. Ill tune her up tommorow, along with compound buffing the paint to see if i can make it shine again...Thanx

endless,i love the look of those rims on your srt-4.good choice,as for the sputtering ther is a few things to check like what they said about the plugs also try to clean out the fuel injectors im sure that will help,jiffylube has a good servise for the injectors try that
