´90 Cutlass Ciera SL, 3.3. Ignition module problem, HELP!!!!!

Cutlass Ciera SL, ´90, 3.3. Millage=80.000
I replaced the module because the car was overheating, the "check engine soon" light when on, every time the car was overheating, with no visual or aparent cause. I had to stop the car, wait 30 minutes ´til the car was fine, and then after a few miles, the same. The mechanic scanned the car, and the scan showed an error with the ignnition module, so I replaced ityesterday.

Now i have a worso problem, the car stalls and stops everytime i brake the car, or i stop it at a light/stop sign/ intersection. If i leave the car running alone in throtle, the car will die after a little bit. When I stop the car i have to run the gas because if not, it will stop. I try letting the car sitting alone and i did die.

The car didnt have this problem before.

I need HELP PLEASE.

Car overheating?

Start your car and let it idle. Around 7-15 minutes or so, the radiator fan should come on as it coolant reaches temperature where the radiator fan should kick on. If your radiator fan is not running within 7-15 minutes then check the coolant sensors as it may be corroded and not reporting the proper temperature of the coolant and so the radiator fan will not kick on.

Verify itself that the radiator fan works and still running by directly providing power to the radiator fan wire and see if the radiator fan itself works. If the radiator fan does not work by directl providing power to it's wire then the radiator fan needs replacement.

Where is your ignition module located at?
On our 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 3.1L V6, the ignition module was in front of the engine which just behind the radiator and below the coolant reservoir. I found out why I have the same problem with what you are describing, it is that when the coolant was coming out of the loose reservoir cap and squirting coolant right down the ignition module and causing the same symptom that you are describing. Fixed the radiator fan problem by cleaning the coolant sensor and fixed the loose reservoir cap and I no longer have problem.

I would assume your vehicle have an OBDI which you can just put a wire on the A, B diagnostics port which is usually located below the dashboard by removing the cover just below the steering wheel. You can reverify to make sure you have the right error code by counting the number of flashes it indicates.
