10w40 in the pan, doh
fellows -
last oil change i did a filled it back up with 10w40. what side effects should i expect to see? will it fowl anything up like my plugs, sensors or anything like that? hit me back - dan

A engine will run ok with 10-40. And is not a life threating problem on a short time use.
But does not lubercate the tight spots as good. It is a little heavey for newer engines. Most manf. say to use 5W30 Check your owners manual or dip stick or oil filler cap. You could always drain it out and put back what is supposed to be in it. MT

yea i'm not looking to change the oil right away after i just did it the other day. just want to make sure i'm not setting myself up for some addititional wear and tear. thanks

yea you will be just fine... you would be surprised what most shops do.. the few i use to work at only carried one kind of oil in there tank which was 10 30... then they would just right like 5w30 and so on, on the sticker
