Truck wont start
Hi,
I have an 86 Silverodo ("Scottsdale") that won't start. The engine was making a rapid, but short, clicking sound when going to start. I thought it might've been out of gas, because I did run it down to empty. (It's sitting, garaged for the winter so I had to get a gas can) After putting in gas, I tried it again; it made the noise once, but now not at all. I remember the same thing happening with my mother's van several years ago, but don't remember what the problem was. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: Truck wont start
Did you check the battery? Pull it out and take it to Autozone. They'll check it for free.

Re: Truck wont start
Sounds exactly like a dead battery, especially if it was sitting garaged for a while.

Re: Truck wont start
makek shure you have a good charged battery. now for some fun a truck sitting for a long time with out starting is a bad thing. since its a 86 i am betting you have a fuel pump. depending on how many miles on the truck you clould of jumped time and taken out the fuel pump. check your oil for gas and timing.
if you have oil in the gas its time for a new fuel pump and filter. |
