new air intake

im considering getting a new air intake for my 95 2.2 se
i know nothing about cars but i have decided to fix this one up.
i was wondering if there is any thing i need to know about a intake.
are the ones you buy off ebay for $20 alright?
are there any dangers?
is it worth it?
and how much hp is that really gona add?

i was just wondering if they worked.it says it adds 35 hp i dont think thats possible just by spinning the air.

i heard something about aftermarket intake screwing up you air to gas ratio is this true?

These intakes do work, but do not expect much for $20-50, but then again they are identicla to high end models which cost 10times the price and do the same.

What you will get from ebay is a cheap copy usually out of PVC pipe or aluminum, but does exact same as expensive models.

As for the turbin, all it is trying todo is circulate air in attempst to make it colder, jsut think on hot days cars perform adequate but on frosty mornings you have alot of extra juice. I honestly can't see it increaseing that much horsepower as its just directing the air in on angles and not actually spinning.

Also reread turbine ad, says up to, not 35 extra horsepower so if you only got 5 extra they say its dependant on application and vehicle to protect there asses.

what kind of HP increace would i get from one of these?
could i install it my self? i can use a welder
