Re: 8 Light mod

from the this forum but i took further they said to hook a diode from pin 85 on the relay of the hi beam to pin 85 on the low beam so i did that then i saw that they had a pin 85 on the fog light and on the drl relay so i had 2 more diode and hook them all up to pin 85 on the hi beam relay and it work HOLD ON yep it work my truck is not on fire yet. I will try to dray out a schematic at work to put on here

Re: 8 Light mod

When I turn on the highe beams the High beams, Low Beams, drl, and fog light are all on. The high beam drowns out the low beam a little I will try to get a night pic of it

Re: 8 Light mod

Did you ever get a chance to draw out the mod or can you give me a wire plot to do the mod?

What light # did you use in the DRL for amber?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 8 Light mod

ok away we go If you remove the cover from the fuse box on the driver side under the hood you will see the hi beam relay on your left when you remove it you will see the # 85 on the under side of the relay and on the wire diagram under the cover remember that # 85 you will use it the whole time on all the relay. now right in front of you is the low beam and right above that is the drl relay if you look they all have a # 85 in the bottem right hand corner the only one that is differnt is the fog light relay the #85 is at the top

1) pull the low beam relay and soilder a N0001 diode(radioshack 2 for .59 you will need three)with the band going away from the relay { make sure you soilder it next to the relay so it plugs back in}
2) now do the same for drl and the fog lights. make sure you heat shrink for protection. with all the diode installed run a wire from all three diode then twist together then soilder in one wire that will be soilder on to the hi beam #85 you have to use one wire because all three are to thick to soilder on the high beam. Also i use 22 gauge wire an it worked fine

If you need any help I check this site alot so just give a reply

Re: 8 Light mod

06Z71 I was wondering if you could help me out. I want to do the 8 light mod on my 99 but when i pulled off the fuse cover under the hood there is only one relay for headlamps. I found the relays for the fog and drls. Any suggestions? anybody?

Re: 8 Light mod

Don't think you can do the 8 light mode on the 99-02 due to the way it is wired because I THINK the 99-02 uses the ground and 03-06 uses 12 volt but u can do the 4 light mod the have a forum about it use the search button but my frien has a 99 I will try to wire it for 8 light mod because he wants it when he saw mine and I will let you know what i find out

Yes you can do the 8 light mod on a 99-02......you can also do it on a 03-04 as well.......search under my name, 'silveradoking', or look under, 'hi,low,drl,fog'........I made a post a while back, you know back in the day,......but beware it is quite a lenthgy procedure......
