Question Looking at a 95' Z28

So I was Looking at a 95' Z28, it has 91k mls, real sharp!
I'd say its in Good condition with no visable problem ares.

They are asking $5500, does that price sound about right for a Z28?

Kelly Blu book said around $4800 from an individual(which it is) not a dealer.

Anything in paticular I should be aware of?
Any input would be appriciated, Thankx in advance!

Yeah, that doesn't sound bad, but I'm sure you can always talk them down to 5k

Re: Looking at a 95' Z28

I was thinking of starting at $4500 or a little less.
They've had it sitting for 2-3 months, maybe they'll bite. I dont know if its a automatic or manual(didnt really look yet), but it is a 5.7, thats the 350?
Its green, which is better than RED!
Gooing to driv it tomarrow, wish my luck!

Re: Looking at a 95' Z28

If he doesn't know if it's M6 or A4 I doubt he'll know what options it has just yet.

Sounds pretty good. Make sure you find out maintenance things. Optispark and waterpump are good things to ask about.

Re: Looking at a 95' Z28

Damn you guys are quick!
Thankx!
Ya I hav driven by this car at least 100 times and I always thought it might look good in my drive But since you guys say its an LT1.., Its as good as mine!

But I havnt actually stoped and rubbed it down just yet, though I could... But I did speak with the owner on the teli and told them I'd be by tomarrow. So most likly I will buy, unless its been totalled or a damn salvage title(what a nightmare!).

And Thanks again, to all of ya!

Re: Looking at a 95' Z28

Can't always go by the book value. Thats a averaged selling prices. A car in excellent shape for its year will be worth slightly more. I would get it but expect to pay closer to 5K than 4500. Either way good luck with it, 95 was a great year.

Have you gone on the test drive by chance? If so how was it? Options etc?

Re: Looking at a 95' Z28

Well I went and check it out. Drov and rode great. Interior was in ok shape for a 95', nice after market radio. Was an automatic, with some real get up and go!
It'll peel out, thats for sure!
And they are asking 5k not 5500. so I'm going to think it over tonight and If they take $4600, I'll be the proud owner of a Z28.

Had an older Camero, 76' . Had a punny 6cyl when I bought it, took that out and put in a 69' 327 B&B. Was a F****** demon from Hell! Couldnt keep it on the road for shit when you got on it. Must hav put 3 tranys in it(autos) then I yanked the motor and sold it(pos).

It was in need of loving I couldnt giv,Lol

Thanks again Guys for your help. If I'm in need of support I know where to look.

Re: Looking at a 95' Z28

Well to up date things, When I drov the car the first time the tires were really low and it was a short driv. The chick I talked to didnt know anything about it. So I went back after her husband was home.

After airing up the tires and letting it warm all the way up their was some SE lights on in the dash.
If some one has this model of Z could you please post a pic of the cluster lit up(so I can be certain what I'm dealing with)?
One was the ABS Mop , ?, On the left side of cluster, and one on right, which the guy told me it was traction control(wasnt working?).

So it drov like shit! Has 17" rims LP tires, steering wheel had been broken and jery rigged(good, didnt even notice till I was told). It pulled REALLY BAD to the right and had a bad Shimmy in the front. When you pushed the gas hard, slow speeds or fast, the right rear seems to drop or squating, something funny. I checked the springs and they didnt look broke.
Has a new trany which seemed fine for setting, a year! I didnt even see it till 3-4 months ago. Guess they had it somewhere else trying to sell it. But it shifts a little stiff and hard even when I wasnt pushing the throttle more than 1/4 down. When I stood on it it shifted softer.

I hav worked on these Z28 before, its just been a loooong time, lik 8-9 years So I'm a little rusty at the details I should know before comitting to buying this car. Its a straight car, no dents dings or no flaws in paint. They are throwing in the factory rims, wow!

I would really appreciate all your guys help , and input on what you think about the deal.
Thanks JC
