multiple problems. need help. going insane.

I have a 94 Passat glx wagon and the (stuff) has hit the fan. it's running rich and has much less low end power than it should. It also has a problem with not starting because of lack of fuel. I replaced the fuel pump relay but after about 30 miles, the problem came back. All filters and spark plugs were replaced with little effect. If it did help, it has only lasted 30 miles. Because of turning over the motor it has gone into a limp mode where the trans stays in 3rd and runs even richer, to the point of dying. I am going insane and I need a car before I go to college. please help.
