yeah, what'd ya do? Can you salvage anything (the head). Maybe you can make an lsvtec, so you would only have to buy the b18 block. I've seen b16 blocks go for around 450+ shipping from the normal sites that sell them. Nippon motors, Soko.com. good luck dude.

i was racin a 93 integra gsr (b17a) w/ a 7lb. flywheel, hks hyper catback, and an intake. i was ahead the whole time...but then when i shifted hella fast into fourth @ 8k the fuckin bitchass y1 grinded (usually only grinds a little in 2nd and a TON in 3rd) and of course by then the gas was already pinned and that's when my mugen chipped pr3 ecu with NO REV LIMITER gave me a nice little present......the R's shot WAY ABOVE 8K (i dont know how high cuz my stock tach only goes to 8k) and then my engine made a noise like when you get a flat tire. black smoke plumed out the back and oil hit the ground. luckily, it was close by to my house, so my friend in a civic rammed my ass the whole way home

About a week later we removed the head (after of course seeing that the #4 cylinder sparkplug had been crushed up to the threads - mildly stripping threads on the head. when we removed the head.....all of the cylinders were filled with this baby-shit like substance. the #4 cylinder had NO PISTON to be found in it. also, we found a cracked connecting rod in that cylider...and the cylinder walls/sleeves were also shattered. SO THE BLOCK IS FUCKED.

THIS IS WHERE I GOT REAL MAD. an inspection of the head revealed that my #4 cylinder exhaust valves were missing...the intake ones looked like they had been beaten severely with a meat hammer for about a decade. the combustion chamber looked the same way. all of the other valves of the other cylinders are being propped open about a quarter to a 1/8th of an inch by little pieces of metal (most likely pieces of my piston of my exhaust valves.) MY HEAD IS FUCKED.

we drained the "oil" also. at first, all that came out was coolant. then thick chunky oil. my exhaust header is also caked in sludge. I NEED A NEW LONGBLOCK. sorry to be so long...i just needed to vent i guess.

Rev Limiters are a good thing! - Sorry to be a smart-ass, and sorry about you blowing up the motor...The black chunky sludge stuff wsa prolly what was left of that #4 piston....

Longblocks are pretty cheap...try www.hondamotorsonline.com - for a while the b16a longblock was cheaper than a ZC

I know what your feeling man. Try hondamotorsonline like sastanley said. They have good prices. My S1 trans decided to take a dump on me. My bro was pulling out of an intersection nice and easy and it let go. Oil everywhere. Had to get it towed home... It has a hole the size of my fist in the top of it around the speedo cable. The speedo cable was chewed up pretty bad. The casing was also cracked all around the shift linkage. So needless to say I was pretty pissed. Anyone selling a good conditon S1, J1, Y1, or Ys1 trans???

Hey fishcat. Why dont u just rebuild it? That way u know that its a good motor cause u know everything is fresh. The mugen chip has no rev limiter? I thought it did. Cause i know it redlines at 10k.

i dont wanna go thru the hassle of rebuilding. the block is pretty bad...but i think that it is rebuildable. the head, however apparently is not....and b16 heads are pretty hard to come by now with everyone using them for lsvtec & crvtec. the mugen chip i had has no rev limiter. u can customize it before you order it. i've heard of 8.2, 8.5, 9, 10k, and no rev limiters from mugen/mugen style chips. the only reason i was using it was cuz with my stock pr3 vtec wasn't engaging...but it was engaging with the mugen chip ecu. so i used it (my friend wasn't using it), and it cost me my motor. i think that i will be buying the longblock from hondamotorsonline now once i get the money.
