I have a CAI (not installed) but its rains a hell of alot here and I have to go through puddles upto 4-5 inches deep. So I was thinking of just using the top part in the rainy season...
...but will using just these clamps ..hold it on because on this piece of the pipe there is not place to bolt it down, like on the bigger piece there is. Also when I am driving from 1st to 2nd to 3rd I have a light grinding noise mostly going up hills but sometimes on flat road. What could this be my tran, clutch, or just something i might be doing? Would really like to hear almost everyones

I have no fucking clue what you just asked, you should rephrase and re-ask the question.

Re: It will fit...but will it hold plus another question
If you're asking if the band clamp will hold then of course it will, is that what you asked?

Re: It will fit...but will it hold plus another question
I was asking if the band clamps would hold it on but that was answered ^ and when I am driving when I shift from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd I have a light grinding noise mostly going up hills but sometimes on flat road. It makes the noise while I am in the gear not going to the gear. What could this be my tran, clutch, or just something i might be doing?

Re: It will fit...but will it hold plus another question
It sounds like a tranny going bad if it grinds while in gear. This happens even when the car is fully warmed up? Try changing the tranny fluid, BG Syncroshift II ftw.
EDIT: I'm not sure about the non-turbo's, I have no idea what you can and can't use. make sure you check before you change it!

Re: It will fit...but will it hold plus another question
Judging by the picture it looks like its going on a n/t. If you are going to change the tranny fluid, you can only use factory tranny oil. It has to say NV-T350 on the bottle. Otherwise you will screw up your tranny.

Re: It will fit...but will it hold plus another question
In the original post, I think he was asking if the band clamp alone would hold the intake pipe on without the hanger. I would say it would depend on the angle, weight, etc. Tighten it down good and try and move it around. If it budges then I'd gheto rig a hanger. You can bend a piece of metal and stick one end under the band clamp around the filter before you tighten it, and the other end somewhere secure. Allow enough play for the engine to move when it revs though.
