Next question: Potential

Okay, so within reason, what has more potential the early (97-99) 1.8? or the 2.8? It doesn't seem that too many poeple are crazy about the 2.8. The 1.8 only has 150hp, that's kinda weak, especially for a turboed motor. I don't plan on putting too much in to the car, and for the mean time will be driving it stock.

Re: Next question: Potential

If you want most potential then go for the 1.8. There are more mods that you can do to it. In the 2.8 you can only get real power from the supercharger kit (PES or Modyne).

If you really want Audi power that you can mod, pickup a B5 S4 2.7T. They just got the Gt28 turbo kit complete and you can put down over 450hp to the wheels.

Re: Next question: Potential

Which ones are available for the 99.5? Which one has the best price, power, results? any input would be greatly appreciated as this will be one of my first mods

Re: Next question: Potential

there are gillions of posts on every forum comparing giac and apr...revo is def. not available for 99.5's... i believe apr's chips are 'smoother' and more linear...whereas giac are a little more fun and a little more 'kick in the pants'.. i went straight from stock to the t28..so i really cant comment
