Talking Supercharging my 99 Civic SI

Hey Guys,
im looking into getting a vortech supercharger kit with aftercooler for my 99 civic si and ive been doing some research on the different parts im gonna need to beef my car up in order to handle to boost. right now my car is completely stock so there will be several parts added before i give in and buy the supercharger. im going to have greddy evo exhaust, a high flow cat (any ideas on good ones), greddy or dc sports headers (any thoughts?), and maybe a few other things if money permits. when i do drop for the kit im gonna go for a stronger clutch (i havent researched this much, whats a good company/stage etc?), a lightened flywheel (again any ideas?), the vortech fuel system upgrades (anything better?), jackson racing oil cooler, a new timing belt (will a new stock one survive or do i need to look for a reinforced one?), ignition (will i even need this since the kit comes with a better coil and wires?). what my big question was what do i have to do to the engine internals? ive read in different places that b16s are set up with valve overlap that increases horsepower on n/a engines but when its forced it hurts it. would i have to swap out my cams/valves/valve springs or anything deeper inside the engine like piston rings, head gaskets (was thinking copper just to be safe) or anything else like engine mount bushings or axles?

any help you guys can give me would be great cause im kinda new to the import scene since i switched from my piece of shit malibu (they dont make a god damn thing for it so i had to custom everything *see profile*). hell should i even go for a supercharger? would a turbo do better? what im aiming at with my mods is a high horsepower, kill everything it drives up too, daily driver. i wanna drive around at the normal 3-4k normal rpm range and have an invigorating drive. now i do have the occastional "spirted driving session" which one time involved the cops (thanks to my massive map-like skills i acquired while being a pizza driver i got away). anyway, i want the car to drive like it should be stock, but still give me that feeling like my money went to good use. thx for you help guys and im sorry if i sound like a newb but i am

Well first off all welcome to the import scene. Good to hear you have a honda now. K i will just list the things i think you should get in the order that you wrote them. DC headers, ACT Stage 3 or ClutchMasters Stage 3 Clutch, Just lighten your stock one to 12 lbs or so, the vortech fuel system should work unless you wanna go with standalone fuel management system, the stock timing belt should be fine unless you really feel that you need one, The igntion the kit comes with would be ok but i would get a MSD Ignition...ok and as for the motor you should build everything but it's your choice, new cams, cam gears, connecting rods, valvesprings, pistons, etc. if you really want to hold the motor in there then get the HASport billet mounts and the motor wont even move when you rev it unlike stock. That pretty much covers everything that you wrote about i think but if you have any more questions, jus feel free to ask.

vortech designed the supercharger to work with the B16 stock internals. most likely with good tuning, you won't have to upgrade rods and pistons after you get around 18psi. you can also go with a turbo system, but i would recommend a custom turbo setup, as it will be cheaper and possible to make more power than any kit sold on the market. now if you just want a steet machine, a vortech supercharger will do it for you. the Vortech Civic Si dynoed at ~264 horsepower to the wheel. when translating the wheel horsepower, the engine should be making around 310 horsepower. that should be enough as your daily driver. i recommend clutchmaster stage 3 or 4. either will work fine. as for exaust, find a pipe that is a full 3" to get the most power out of your superchager. i prefer MSD ignition over the vortech one. when you're boosting more than 8psi, you're bound to misfire. it's optional that you replace your stock brake pads or rotor with something aftermarket to handle the power. when you have that much power, you'll want to have something to stop those horses. other than that, it should be a great kit.

oh yea, centrifugal superchargers don't have the powerband as good as the twin root (jackson racing superchargers). with the twin root, you have instand torque and horsepower, but on the vortech, its lags. so either gains all over the rev band or LOTS of gain at top-end.
