01 harness short kills engine

New guy here, old trooper guy (3 prior) finally found 01 trooper with 40 k on new dealer engine 145k on trooper. Going aound corners engine dies occsionally need to restart and then fine. Talked to Isuzu dealer he said it was harness from computer. He's right - wiggled wire and engine quits. Question for you learned individuals is this: a possible repair it your self scenario or should I just bite the bullet and pay the bucks?
