Power locks trouble

Power locks stopped working yesterday. after I popped the rear window on my 98 Jimmy (4dr 4x4). the actuators clicked a few times, and then they were dead?

I checked both of the fuses in the side of the dash, they are both fine. When I put each of the fuses back in, the doors would lock?

neither of the power lock swithches work, but I do hear a click from the drivers side of the dash, when the button is engaged?

Any suggestions? I am thinking perhaps a relay or some thing?

Robb

Sounds like the door lock relay isn't energizing properly.

Re: Power locks trouble

Check for broken wires in the rubber boot between driver door and body.

Re: Power locks trouble

turns out the spring in my rear hatch loch is broken, and was not returning the cylinder to a vertical position, so the "central locking" on the hatch was perpetually locked. tuned the unit back to the vertical position, and the locks etc work fine. Guess I am going to require a new rear button thingy?
