BLack Housing Headlights Illegal???
Someone today told me that Black housing headlights on a 99 Civic are illegal. I was wondering if it is true or not? Well thanx for the help. Peace.

I wouldn't think they would be illegal. But who knows with all the stupid laws they are making these days. I've never heard of them being illegal though.

no way they are illegal, maybe your friend thought you were talking about those black-out covers for the headlights, which are illegal.

Instructions
Does anyone have instructions on how to replace the headlights on a 99 Civic? I know I have to remove my front bumper but does anyone have detailed instructions? Thanx

They can't be illegal, all the cop cars around here, the New Impalas, they all have Black Housing Lights on them. I don't know if any of you guys have noticed.

Black housing headlights are legal (but not all of them). It all depends on whether they are SAE and DOT approved. Some are, some aren't most likely due to other factors such as visibility, aiming, etc.
