Need to Purchase tires for Grand Prix
Hi all I have an 01 Grand Prix Gt and i need new tires, can someone suggest which ones to get. Right now i have the Good Year RSA but i am not too thrilled with them they are not too stable on the road. I was Looking at Folkins, Yokohama, and Bridestone Potenza.

Re: Need to Purchase tires for Grand Prix
I picked up some of the Bridgestone Potenza G009's from tirerack.com
They were about $79 a piece and ~$10 shipping per tire. Cheaper than costco and I had a local tire shop down the hill from me mount and balance them for $7.50 a tire. The tires have excellent traction, do very well in the never-ending Oregon rain and ride relatively smooth and quiet. For the price I don't think you can find a better tire. |

Re: Need to Purchase tires for Grand Prix
get the goodyear assurance tripletreads. several members here have them and love them. they have A ratings, are an 80k tire, and grip like hell(important), and they have the cool "V" groove directional pattern that everyone loves so much(unimporant). the only problem i have found....cant peal out near as much... is that a bad thing??? try this link:

Re: Need to Purchase tires for Grand Prix
probably so...for some goodyears..but not these...
best traction and wear for the money. since it is an all season tire, it will work good in winter and the rest of the year too. i also have the 01 gt- car wont hardly burn much less slip. |

Re: Need to Purchase tires for Grand Prix
i agree with them, goodyear assurance triple treads. got them on last december, and hold the road in dry, wet, and snow like a champ. i got them at the local goodyear shop for 85 a tire. worth every penny. 80k treadlife as well. they are alot better than the stock bfg's that were on there. i even noticed a handling increase from the stiffer sidewalls (or its all in my head) who knows! best all season tires money can buy.

Re: Need to Purchase tires for Grand Prix
Check out this thread for a lot of the questions you may have. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=507333
I am a firm believer in the Triple Treads. I can't say enough about how happy I am with these tires. If you decide against them, all I can say is don't go with the Bridgestones. My re950's were rated better than anything at the time, and within a year, they were noisy, showing wear, and just seemed old. I'm coming up on one year with the triple treads and they still look and feel new. |
