causes for SRS light

So what could be some cause for the SRS light to come on? I would like to try to figure out before I take it to the dealer.

Is there a fuse for the airbag? Any ideas?

Any default in the airbag system... Maybe a sensor went out, airbags went out, bad wiring, bad fuse...

The one in my eclipse turned on after a lady ran into my car going about 10mph. No huuuge damage was done but for some reason the light came on. REMEMBER...if your srs light is on, your airbags will not deploy in the time of an accident. Get that fixed or get some sort of harness/cage system to replace it.

if its just a fuse then I don't want to take it into the dealer

Try looking in the fuse box, that's usually where they are kept.

well, theres no fuse labeled airbag.
I checked all of the fuses today in both fuse boxes and they all seem fine.

Any other ideas? I hate taking into the dealer and paying $108 diagostic fee.

check by the actual air bag module. see if any wires are cut or grounding out. not sure where its at so you will have to buy a book.

haha I know, thats why I'm asking my questions here.

dealership would be my last resort after I decide to get it fixed or not.
The airbag module is right below the arm rest, you'll see it when you remove the armrest. I've already checked there and they all seemed ok.

I'm going to get the code scanned and see if I can get a better answer. Hopfully I will
