99 Sable Service Engine Light HELP
I work on cars myself on the side but I am not all that familar with these. But I have a friend having problems with her 99 Sable with the Duratec engine. The car began to run low rpms at idle and sometimes stall and the engine light came on. I had the codes checked and autozone, they said the mass air sensor was bad. I took it out and cleaned it and unplugged the battery to clear the codes. About an hour later of driving it started it again, the engine light came back on and the code gave the same, Mass Air Sensor. So we replaced it and the car runs rough still with the new sensor. And it didn't run rough at all before doing this. Any help/input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Garrett. Please email me at

Re: 99 Sable Service Engine Light HELP
I haven't yet. The light came back on and it said the O2 sensor. But I had a buddy tell me it sounds like the coolant temp sensor is probally causing the problems. Any ideas? I will check for vacume leaks next time I get a chance. Thanks, Garrett.

Re: 99 Sable Service Engine Light HELP
Hi, When you replaces MAF, You had to inadvertently of course, created a vac. leak, You will just have to double check all the hoses etc, By the way, double check rhe Connector itself for green terminal connectors.. GOOD LUCK..Clay..
