K i just checked out this 240, what u think?

the guys actually selling for about 3900, but im thinking we can hit up around 3000

anyways, its got 160k on it

aside from that it has a few minor probs

*A crack in the windshield, passenger side

*the AC has a slight clicky prob, but it worked fine after warming the car up

*the drivers side window is jerky when going up and down

*some minor scratches, lil bit of rust

Other than that, the car runs pretty nicely, i like the way the engine sounds, nice wooshing sound, i didnt get to really test out its speed since they dealer didnt put any gas in it, and my mom was there, but ya

i like it, nice small turning radius (compared to my lumina) and ya it just sounds really nice

whats a good price? is 3500 or so good?

im gonna get a tranny swap eventually (first thing probly) and then a engine swap so the 160k isnt a BIG deal...

anyone know any free carfax reports?

i'd say that car isn't worth more than $1500. with all those problems and the mileage, its not worth it. and if its got rust then the rust is only going to spread. and i'd drive it before buying it. no gas is probably the sleaziest excuse i've ever heard. you gotta take control of this. find out all the problems (take it to a mechanic) and then tell them whats wrong with it and make an offer. they're trying to stick a sand paper covered pickle up your ass. don't let them. NO PICKLE. ESPECIALLY WITH SANDPAPER.

i would pass on it either way, too much wear and tear. but its your call, with a little body work, a new windshield and new engine, it would be a sweet ass car. (there was a slight amount of sarcasm there...)

i said i didnt get to test out its speed (potential) because i didnt think id have enough gas to get onto the highway and back, and my mom was there in the passenger seat, i took it to about 50 though, and it ran nicely

thats a ripoff. Its auto, it has high mileage, and it has problems. It would be cheaper to find a nice shell and do an SR. Or just buy a nice S13 for 3500$

i do, and my mom replys "im not gonna give you anymore gas money when you need some." Then she gives me 10 next weekend to drive to my dads house and fill the car while im there. 89octane is only 2.13 at his house! Its like 2.27 at my moms house.

BACK TO TOPIC- Where are you located? it might be better than the pics show, but it looks pretty rugged. Id try to get him way down (doubt he would go low enough to make the offer good) or just look for another.

I'd pass on this one man if you want to find a car that you'll love just wait and keep looking, I got my 5spd for 2900 with no rust and the only body ding (I popped it out first thing when I got home) was where her bf's ducatti tipped over and nicked the drivers side door. Just don't buy from dealers, take it to a mechanic, and be patient.

and I run it through the gears with my mom in the car its funny shit
but then she gets me back by trying to race around with me in her shitty ford aerostar with blown shocks, it feels like your gonna tip

rust is a big issue for me, cracked windshield could cost 2 to 3 hundred bucks, it was 200 on my truck... maybe more on a 240sx....

if ur gonna spend that kind of money you can find a 240sx that is much nicer, maybe even one that is kinda raggedy with a SR swap and a 5 speed already.

Yeah, we got a guy here with an SR swap and bolt ons already done for 3500$ IIRC? But it doesnt run quite right (says he thinks it has a bad MAFS, but still, good fixer project car with a little tuning)

am i the only one who thinks its not a bad buy? that car has less problems then mine does, and probrably has less problems then half of you guys cars. with the going prices of the S14's nowadays 3000 even seems like a pretty decent deal to me. i mean i got mine for 7K with 45K miles on it and that was over 3 years ago before the 240sx got really big.

pretty much bone stock, 93000 miles, great paint, no rust, no problems at all.
and its a 5speed... no reason to have it any other way

tat, the car this guy is looking at has 160,000 miles, and 3 years ago, my car would have cost me $1000 more.. if he had tried to buy this car 3 years ago, it wouldn't be so old and it probably wouldn't be in the shape it is now.. about the problems, i don't have close to as much as what this guy has.. the price is just too high for a car that won't pass inspection and that has so many kms. thats a project car. i'd buy it for $1500 if i could pick a price. its not worth anything over $2000. rust and dents and shit will take it over in another year or so.
