couple things i cant find

yes i searched and nothing good came up.
im looking for a rear diff gasket kit for my 92 talon tsi. it leaks a little.
and i found a rebuild kit from topline just because im getting up there in miles is that a good buy or should i look for another.
and if i buy a downpipe and exhaust will i still need to buy a high flow cat or test pipe. extremepsi.com is having a sale apexi downpipe and exhaust together for 600. and i wanted to pick it up

Re: couple things i cant find

I can't answer your gasket question, but you wont need to buy a test pipe or highflow cat unless you want to. 600 is a bit much. I put my 3in turbo back for around $340.

Megan racing DP $120 shipped Ebay
Megan muffler $60 shipped Ebay
3in muffler shop cat back $150 installed

Mikes megan DP and catback are nice.

I would get the topline rebuild kit, not sure if you'll find another brand.

Re: couple things i cant find

Megan had trouble with the 2g awd dp matching up perfectly. I havent heard anything else bad besides that and Megan is working on that problem now as we speak(type). Megan stuff seems like a good performance bang for the buck. Many satisfied customers from what I read on tuners.

Re: couple things i cant find

I did a write up last july on my install. After talking to the R&D guy over at Megan racing, he basicly told me they fucked up and are making new downpipes. The 2g GSX fit the 1g GSX, 1g GS-T and 2g GS-T. But the flanges were welded up wrong connecting it to the stock cat back. I did a write up last July about the pipes. I was kinda pissesed when I wrote it. I think I explaned how I fixed it. But I ended up having to drill the o2 studs off and replacing them with thinner bolts for the 3in diameter pipe to fit.

Re: couple things i cant find

they all answered your exhaust question so ill hit the diff question. on the rear diff you have 3 seals, one at each axle and one where the pinion (flange) for the driveshaft comes out. those you can buy from the dealer or any parts store. for the main rear cover seal you just clean it off good and use rtv. id recomend the ultra gray.

you might not need a testpipe or anything with the apexi downpipe. doublecheck but i thought that that was a "long" downpipe that has a testpipe built in.

A megan dp on your car would be great. And easy to install since you have a 1g.

I have a megan on my car and it's great, good construction at a great price.

Re: couple things i cant find

I agree with the RTV, i used it on my rear diff on my truck after a fluid change and it worked great with no leaks.
