Exhaust Suggestions

I have my spec v for a while now, it has about 5 or 6 thousand miles. Now I'm really interested in buying an exhaust system for my car, I need suggestions. I want the best exhaust that is out for this car. If anyone has suggestions please let me now and give me a price.

These aftermarket exhausts do little or nothing at all to increase HP, they can actually sometimes decrease it. Nissan did not pay millions of dollars to engineers to research and develop something that doesn't work. Your are better off sticking with your stock exhaust unless you've spent time researching and gotten "real proof" that these aftermarket parts actually do what the companies claim. If you're just going for the looks of a shiny oversized exhaust tip, go ahead and blow 500+ bucks on one.

this is not necessarily true, since u add mods such as intake and headers u add more airflow to the car.....and if u have ur stock exhaust there will not be enough backpreassure to ur car and it'll be unbalanced, that's the reason why to get bigger piping to your exhaust so that u can balance out the airflow to your car, but if the piping is too big then u will have too much backpressure and you'll be letting too much flow out of ur car......one of the best ways to get full potential to your car is to make it breath....peace

This can be true, as long as you are able to get the correct size piping. Too large can decrease HP. If you aren't to concerned with looks, I would just go down to the local muffler shop and have them install larger piping. It will achieve the same effect and will be considerably cheaper in price. I would rather have a sleeper than show off all of my go fast goodies anyways. I have also been told that these cold air intakes do not always work like they should, they suck in hot air! I just got a drop in K&N, it does just fine.

jriggle, what u have been told isn't totally true about the CAI's. they might suck in hot air because outside is hot. The main purpose for CAI is that they grab air away from the engine....the engine is 3x as hot than a regular hot day

I'm sure they work somewhat, however, in my opinion, the little HP gain that you do get with all of these bolt on parts isn't worth the hundreds of dollars you spend on them. I think Nissan did a fine job on what they've created and I don't intend to mess with it. If I was gonna do an exhaust, I'd go with the Stillen rear section, you will notice just about no difference between that and a full catback, the price is right too, only $349.

I bought my intake hoping to get a few horsepower (friend sold it to me for $50). I love it for the sound (I have a Honda)...car sounds great. Is the Sentra exhaust mandrel bent?
