04 grand am cd player

hi, I have a 04 grand am, I want to get a new cd player, but i couldn't find any wiring kit for it, the only wire kit I can find is for the 03 grand am, and it doesn't fit my car...so I donno what i should do, i never took the oem cd player out b4, so I m not sure if i need wire kit or not...but I believe most times u do.

so what should i do? does anyone has any suggestions? thank you very much!!!

Welcome to Automotive Forums diedwater.
You should be able to get one of those kits at a car audio place(Best Buy). You will want a wiring harness that come with the kit(and most likly the plastic inserts to fill the space of the big factory Den), and so you dont hav to cut the wire in the car and try to figure out whats what. So you may want to hav someone order the kit for your year/model if you cant find what you need in store.

Its not difficult to remove the factory stereo, just make sure the theif deterrent on the stereo is disabled. This info will be in your Pontiac book(under I think comfort controls & audio) that came with the car. Be sure to write down the code so you dont forget !!

the front bezel around the radio just pops off with a straight slot screw driver or panel tool. Think theirs two little screws/bolts on each side of the radio frame to remove, and it should pull right out.

I just got back from best buy, the guy there told me that for the 04 model, the air bag is some how connected to the radio...so if i disconnect the radio, the air bags won't work properly.....if it was my car, i wouldn't care at all...but since it's for my gf's car...i d like her to have a safe ride
