Re: grinding noise

If its 5 speed and sitting steal making a sorta like grind noise well like a bearing just spinning but loud id say throwout bearing...If it grinds when you shift you have syncros going bad in tranny...

Need lil more info on it tough to tell..

Re: grinding noise

Could be one of your belt pulleys out of alingment and hitting something.

With the engine idling, get someone to rev your car up to 3000rpm, if you hear grinding or see one of the pulleys wobbling, then thats the problem. It can usually be fixed by tightening the bolt in the center a little bit.

Re: grinding noise

i just realize something.. when i got the car it was drop in the front so and one time i went down the driveway ..i accdently hit the drop..cant explain i think you know what i mean...since its all low in the front... maybe i hit something and now it cause the grinding sound??

when i push on the cluch it doesnt make that sound....because when i first start off the car in the mourning i turn it on and wait for the car to warm up and sometimes leave the car...while outside i can hear that grinding sound.....i pop the under but dont know where its coming from?

Re: grinding noise

Maybe....you exhaust heat sheild? Look under your engine to see if anything is loose (if you can reach it). Or it might be a splash sheild from the bumper thats loose. Idk if this it it, but it kinda makes sense.
