Re: v8 conversion 1988 300zx

Yeah the V8 i was gonna use was out of my buddies 02 SS Camaro (LS1) it had head work and a bigger cam in it as well as some other bolt ons along with some spray that motor in his SS Camaro ran a 11.2 so i thought it would be a fun car then i thought i'll go that fast in a V6 or so i hope!

you sir, deserved to be slapped...

why the Z32 but not the Z31? because the Z32 is known to create uber amounts of HP on the stock engine or is it just because you own a Z31 and you could care less about a car you dont own?

i would throw a V8 in Z31...or atleast an RB. but if i could get it to fit, VH45DER sounds pretty damn nice sliding into a Z31 chassis.

do it...i dont know about that motor beings it has been sprayed. i hope he didnt run it into the ground. anyways, a motor like that would absolutely insane in a pre Z32 chassis. the only reason i say pre Z32 is because the Z32 i just as heavy as a camaro so you might as well keep it in the camaro.

Re: v8 conversion 1988 300zx

i didn't mean an american v8 dude lol... vh45dett into the z32 would kick alllllll kinds of ass, it'd be alright in the z31, but not mine lol... i can prettymuch say i know the sohc vg30 inside and out by now, so it'd take me a hell of a long time to learn that much about a whole other engine to where i'd be confident enough to do anything on it that it required...

all in all i'd rather have the vh45 in an s30 chassis

Yeah, I prolly should have done that. But to late now! He is actually building that motor as we speak. He is aiming for the mid 9's with it! So yeah i really should have gotten it.

it would be worth your time to learn it inside and out. DOHC 4.5L V8 screams potential?
