Re: hybrid silverado

No, they actually get something like 1-2MPG better than a regular silverado (seriously). They're not a hybrid in the sense of the Insight or prius, but, basically, the only difference between a Hybrid Silverado and a regular one, is it does not idle at all. When you come to a complete stop, the engine gets shut off. Touch the gas pedal, and the engine instantly comes back on (they have a REALLY heave duty alternator and starter). They also come factory equipped with a generator under the back seat.

That takes away from the room for sub boxes....I don't like that idea.

Re: hybrid silverado

Then you might need to reread that. There is NO performance difference

Re: hybrid silverado

I dunno how much the hybrid costs extra. I sure would like to have a built in ac outlet or two, tho

Yeah, I've looked into an inverter, but I really want something that looks like it came from the factory that way. I wouldn't mind doing away with the whole cigarette lighter panel and putting an ac outlet there

Re: hybrid silverado

I wired an 800 watt inverter into the trunk and ran romex up to the center console, and installed an outlet and a power switch..
