Adding Self-Dimming Mirror to 01
I am considering buying a 2001 self-dimming rear view mirror. My Santy now has a manual dimming mirror. My question is, does the 2001 GLS come wired for the self-dimming mirror?? If not, how difficult is it to run the wiring?

Re: Adding Self-Dimming Mirror to 01
If I am not mistaken, the Electronic Chrome Mirror started appearing in the Santa Fe from April 2002. Now I am not sure if the wiring was there on the previous 2001 models, but looking at the schematic on Hyundai Webtech tells me that it would be hard adding one to that year model if there are no wires since the Mirror switches off when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
Now it may be possible that you can still add it without having to turn off in reverse by connecting the ground (M82 connector, #3) to the Room lamp (M86 connector, #2) and the "On input connector" of the mirror to Fuse # 9 of the passenger Compartment Junction box at the I/P-D connector, #2 and finally the M82 connector, #2 to the Back up Lamp switch connector C05, position 1. I am not sure if the mirror will turn off once the back up lights turn on, but if you try this, do so on your own accord. TS out
